A revised act establishes that any person liable for highway labor on plank roads may apply in writing to the relevant commissioners to be assessed for the land or property along the road line. The amendment sets the assessment method and directs immediate effect of the act.
An 1855 act facilitates debt collection against stockholders of corporations formed to build turnpikes and tank roads. It allows creditors to sue in the Supreme Court for individual liability of stockholders and former stockholders for debts of the corporation, with procedures to enforce payment and determine outstanding debts.
