Taxable Values For School Set At S47 Million

The Andrews Independent School District tax values for 1950 were set at 47 million dollars after a meeting with oil company representatives and Superintendent Hamilton. Gooch Awarded 60000 in Suit by Pecos Jury

A federal court jury in Pecos awarded Paul Gooch of Andrews $60,000 in a personal injury suit against Phillips Petroleum. Gooch, 42, claimed severe brain concussion and neck injuries from a dump truck bed overturning while employed by L. O Stocker construction in Andrews on October 15, 1947. He sought $100,000 in damages plus $98,400 for lost income.

The 1950 senior class baccalaureate will be Sunday at 11 15 in the high school auditorium. Normal Operations Open House At West Texas Gas Plant

The South Fullerton gasoline plant near Andrews will hold an open house Sunday May 21 from 2 to 6 p m. Guides will show visitors through the facility and explain its operation. The plant is operated by Stanolind Oil and Gas for 15 owners and processes casing head gas from the Fullerton field with a designed capacity of about 55 million cubic feet daily. Refreshments will be served after tours.
