Plans for a three day high school rodeo May 12 to 14 include a parade at 4 pm on Thursday starting at the high school, with a beard contest, stock from Earth man W W Branscom, and events in bareback riding calf roping bull riding barrel racing and ribbon roping. Contestants come from Goldsmith Pecos Lamesa Penwell Fort Stockton Stanton and others with a rodeo queen to be chosen from the student body.

School Committee Sets Monday Meeting for Nominee Review
Six members elected to a nominating committee will meet Monday night to select local citizens for a school advisory group. The committee, drawn from county clubs and organizations, will submit nominees to the Board of Trustees. Elected were Dr. R. R. Ramsey, Mrs. Ann Seay, J R. Bills Jr., Mrs. Russell Austin, James Roberts, and Herb Brown. The meeting will be in the superintendent’s office.

Methodists Plan New 90000 Auditorium
A $90,000 auditorium for the Methodist Church was approved at a Sunday night meeting. The structure will be north of the existing $65,000 educational building facing east and will seat 650 with an upper balcony. The old auditorium becomes a chapel and Sunday school rooms. plans by H. H. Hunt.
