The Methodist Revival at Andrews concluded last Sunday night with a large crowd in attendance. Fifteen additions to church membership were reported. Rev. Cara dine Hooton praised the interest and courtesies shown by members and Andrews residents. Rev. Hooton and Rev. G. H. Bryant thanked all who contributed. Bryant left Thursday for Westbrook, Texas to conduct a ten day revival.
The contract to equip the high school building for gas was let to Rochelle Newton of Lubbock. Newton will install gas burners in the furnace. The school garage is complete and all buses are housed. The board will discuss adding home economics and manual training. The three last bonds on the old building were paid, totaling about $3090.
Roy Cocanougher and Arthur Fisher took a trip to Lubbock on Wednesday, according to reports from local sources. The excursion aimed to inspect facilities and meet with regional officials.

O. G. Weatherby told the Andrews City Council that the city water system posted a June income record, with April at 428 dollars—the highest since purchase three years ago. When metered, sales could hit the 500 dollar mark, aided by the 87000 gallons used by the school to water the football field.
Seven candidates received baptism at the Keith tank three miles east of Andre Sunday afternoon by Rev. Roy Clayton pastor of First Baptist Andrews. Mr and Mrs Carl Ellis and Mr and Mrs Bill Betenbough attended the Stanford Rodeo and Reunion the 4th.
Mr and Mrs L J Stanford announce the marriage of their daughter Oleta Stanford to D W Bryan. They wed June 28 at San Angelo Baptist Church. Oleta is a Andrews High School graduate and social figure. The groom works for Humble Oil and Refining Co and has lived in Andrews County for years. The couple will reside at Humble Camp. Also noted is the resignation of W E S Dickerson as Band Instructor and Spanish teacher at the Andrews Independent School for the coming year.
The regular term of Commissioner court convenes Monday July 10. Key items include Newport House construction, state designation of a New highway, and possible erection of a Highway Department warehouse and division HQ. Routine matters fill the agenda.
J D Hall of Big Spring wins bid to carry Midland to Andrews and Florey starting July 1. Hall replaces Ford who has run the route for two years. Hall previously operated a Big Spring bakery for four years.
A group from Andrews gathered at Highway Park south of town on July 4 for a chicken fry. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Eaves, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Nix and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Brooks.
Rev Roy Clayton led three Y W A girls and sponsor Mrs Echols with her daughter to Colorado City for a Baptist Young People district House Party this week. Marie Embree Helen Ruth Embree Yvonnie Mae Suggs joined. several others could not depart. Bill Wilson reports he planted his entire crop by himself.
Funeral services for Bill Price of Andrews were held in Midland where he was killed in a Monday morning hit run on the Goldsmith Midland highway one mile east of Moonlight Bar. The truck crew Bell and Dragon faced investigation while Price’s family and friends mourned at the Church of Christ.

Mr Homer Rentz takes 15 G A girls and sponsors Mrs Rentz and Mrs Roy Clayton to a House Party in Lamesa sponsored by the Baptist W M S District 8. About 200 intermediates and junior girls from the district expected. Mothers will attend Friday. Return Saturday. Andrews travelers listed.
Judge J A Crane presides over two civil cases and one criminal case when District Court begins Monday. Bill Kerr district attorney and the Grand Jury start proceedings Monday morning. Several cases will be investigated and the Petit Jury will convene Tuesday morning to be sworn in.
Mrs 8S Reeves of Plainview and Lorena Oneal of Tulsa visit during the holidays in the home of Mr and Mrs H B Oneal. Reeves is sister to Mr Oneal and Lorena is his niece.
Mr and Mrs O C Curtis and their son Billy visited Andrews on the Fourth, connecting with local residents and sharing holiday greetings in a brief social note.
Mrs H T Wilson underwent a reselector operation at a Lubbock hospital on Thursday. Her husband and mother accompanied her to the hospital for support.
Betty Jean Burkett was carried to a Midland hospital Monday with a bad case of indigestion that a physician feared might develop into appendicitis. Latest reports from the Sanitarium say surgery is unlikely. Charles Roberts Jr. visited. the Tor end wife and Wesley took him back to Seagraves where he is working.
Mr and Mrs Henry Heath spent the month with relatives in Seagraves and brought home their daughters Frieda Nell and Fern who had visited there for several days.
