Andrews county voters head to polls Tuesday for a runoff to select a state representative and vote on six constitutional amendments. Candidates James Clack and E L Short vie for the unexpired term in the 73rd District with polls at Jack Horner School and county offices including the courthouse and treasurer and clerk offices. The winner may attend the current Texas legislature special session in Austin.

Texas Electric Construction will begin within two weeks on a 27 by 46 foot addition to the Texas Electric Service Company office in this city. Manager Lloyd Stoebner says the new room will serve as a meeting space for employees and the community and will include an electric kitchen for display and demonstration. Missing Driver Found After Crescent Drive Crash
Frantic early morning search by neighbors in the 1000 block of Crescent Drive followed a 3:05 a.m. crash involving a 1967 green Mustang driven by Andrew W. Riley. Riley, reported missing after the collision with a Halliburton truck, was found on Big Spring Highway and arrested for license suspension and headlight violations.

Trans Miss. Jones Loses In Consolation Flight
Andrews own 15 year old Toyna Jones lost in the championship consolation flight of the Trans Mississippi Golf Tournament at Midland Country Club. Jones qualified Monday with handicap eight as the 143rd entrant of 144. The Midland junior, daughter of Mr and Mrs James O Jones, will be a sophomore this fall and had just won the Texas Junior title in her age division. She advances to the Junior National in Dallas August 4-9 at Brookhaven Country Club. See JONES, Page 12.
