City police drug busts cite LSD hits and multiple marijuana cases
Police reports describe a week of narcotics arrests, mostly for marijuana sales and possession. In one raid a suspect faced a warrant and 11 hits believed to be LSD, with assorted paraphernalia found and about a quarter pound of marijuana tied to another investigation. Police also busted a northwest side party resulting in one felonious marijuana charge and two visiting a house of common nuisance charges, all bonded out. Additional seizures included a separate residence search yielding nearly a half pound of marijuana, 11 acid hits, drug paraphernalia, and about $4,000 cash. Investigations into horse theft and a downtown gambling raid yielded further incidents and multiple arrests.

City facing $500,000 suit over alleged assault connection
Deputy city attorney Fred Spencer led the defense for the city and police department in a court action linked to an alleged assault. The suit, dismissed with prejudice after questioning, named Page as employed by the police department in March 1968. Sam McMahan, president of United Faith Housing Inc., sponsors of a unique residence for older citizens, said proceeds will finish the basement for activities and storage. Walters said YMCA should set an example by opening doors to the Up With People cast. The young visitors, aged 17 to 23, will stay with host families in Anderson and visit local high schools and civic groups.
