No summer school for ACS elementary students

Anderson Community Schools board decided not to offer a summer session for elementary students this year following Superintendent Robert E. Stinson's recommendation. The decision cites cost concerns and a state plan allowing a shorter session, plus the district notes students are ahead due to an extra 20 days of instruction from a recent time change. The board also approved funding for Madison Heights High School science facilities, roof repairs at multiple middle schools, and textbook/material bids.
