Governor John W. King signed into law New Hampshire’s first legal sweepstakes since 184. The plan permits two races annually with total prizes up to 200000 dollars. Tickets cost 3 dollars and may be bought only at state race tracks or liquor stores. Local bans may bar sales. The program aims to fund education and could generate about four million dollars in revenue.
