Konkle Claims Killer 41 Safety Gains
INDIANAPOLIS UPI The Indiana State Police head says Project 41 reduced crash injury rate by 18 percent and kept deaths to one more than the prior period despite higher traffic on U S 41. Police report 1 318 total accidents, 830 property damage, 445 personal injuries, 38 fatal crashes, 51 killed, and 774 injured in the June 1968 to May 1969 period versus 1 281, 750, 493, 38, 50, and 915 in the prior year.
