State Patient Escape Dies In Bridge Leap
One of four Richmond State Hospital inmates who fled the facility died from injuries after leaping from a bridge over the Whitewater River. The 48 year old Dortha DeLong was pulled from the riverbank by bystanders and died at Reid Memorial Hospital. The other three teens were captured later in Muncie and nearby towns.
