Dean Testimony Delayed in Watergate Probe
Washington postpone s Dean appearance as Senate panel weighs questions about Nixon subpoena power and presidential privilege. Archibald Cox notes routine study while White House claims double privilege may be dropped. Weicker opposes delay. Mansfield and Scott defend postponement to ease US Soviet talks with Brezhnev. Dean prepared to implicate Haldeman Ehrlichman and possibly Nixon, says he will not be a scapegoat.

Zoning Board Tightens Drainage Rules for Woolco Site
A rezoning on April 13, 1972 shifted zoning to Lev I for a six acre residential area on Scatterfield Road, with Woolco planned at the northwest corner of Scatterfield and Lard Street. The Levinson petition cleared with drainage easement conditions and a bond, engineering work for a lift station and retention pond required before construction on a four unit building. Residents questioned the drainage plan, especially an outlet drain from the retention basin, amid concerns of standing water and mosquitoes. Woolco’s firm commitment remained uncertain as other commercial projects progressed. The board also approved sideline setback variance at 814 Country Lane, a 54 car lot at 125 W 10th St, a lot-coverage variance at 4116 Haverhill Dr for a garage, and continued a filling station exception at 2121-2125 E 3rd St. It tabled a nursing home variance request for 332 W and 396 W 1st St.
