Hatmaker Lev's Senate hearing over 5000 dollar contract
Chicago hatmaker Lev testified before the Senate Investigations subcommittee about a government contract for hats and a 3 cent price difference. He wrote a 5000.38 check to the U S Treasury in surrender of the overcharge claim and denied bribery allegations involving an Air Force captain and a former government employee. The witness described an encounter with Mrs Mella Tart and a former personnel supervisor as socially embarrassing rather than related to business.
