Medicare's medical insurance part covers doctor bills and related expenses. Two claim methods exist: payment to you where the patient submits an itemized bill and Medicare pays the patient, and assignment where the doctor files the claim and Medicare pays the doctor directly.
Parole and probation officers attend a three week workshop at Anderson College on the campus, funded by Region IV, with a follow up session in New Albany. The Anderson event, limited to 25 officers with under a year’s experience, runs 1 to 5 pm and includes lectures on legal, social, philosophical aspects of criminal justice and a drug rehabilitation segment led by Rev. Social security rules now let grandchildren qualify for payments on a grandparent’s earnings record if supported by the grandparent who is receiving benefits or died after sufficient work. A Hanover College student from Anderson earned Amoco Oil Company’s Award of Excellence at campus ceremonies. Frommayer, a 71 year old senior, received a medallion for his role in the bloody five in Hanover’s award winning Berolt Brecht play A Man’s A Man. The Kennedy Center featured the production as part of the fifth annual American College Theatre Festival.
Social Security district manager Herman Landes says women make up about 60 percent of all adult recipients, with 13.8 million women receiving benefits. About six million women receive retirement checks on their own records, while many qualify on a spouse’s earnings. The program also provides disability and survivor protections, Medicare eligibility for long-term disability, and child benefits tied to the mother’s work record.
A 4H Photography Workshop led by Robert Brunsman, Area Extension Agent for Youth, will cover each division in photography including black and white prints, color prints, slides, salon prints, and movies.
