NFL Realignment Stalled in Long Talks

NFL owners failed to settle internal realignment for 1970 after a full day of talks. Commissioner Pete Rozelle said nine plans remain with objections from different owners, centering on snow belt teams Green Bay Chicago Detroit and Minnesota and the need for a warm weather partner. No urgency exists as schedules won’t be drawn until December and a weekend settlement appears unlikely, with another meeting possible in two to three weeks.
