South Madison School Board approves preliminary architects plans for a new East Elementary on 40 acres at Ind 36 and 109, plus a four room addition at South Elementary. Estimated cost 2,948,400. Construction to begin March with completion hoped by fall 1979.

Four Anderson men held after downtown liquor store robbery
Police report four men, ages 21 to 25, were arrested after a liquor store robbery at 1703 Meridian St. about 6:15 p.m. They are charged with robbery, confined in Madison County Jail, and identified as Timothy Bowen, John Barkdull, Timothy Spicer, and Ronald Pherson. A brown paper sack containing about $200 was taken.
