Four year old Allison Padawan breaks party line during Carey address
In Albany four year old Allison Padawan clapped for tax cuts and crime fighting as Democrat Governor Hugh Carey spoke to the Legislature while most Republican lawmakers withheld applause. Norman Hobgood, Arkansas' 106th birthday veteran, says longevity secret is not dying. Hobgood, born January 4, 1872, is one of three surviving Spanish American War veterans and was celebrated at Riverwood Nursing Home with a VFW birthday party. He served in 1898 with Company A of the 3rd Kent Regiment and spent 11 months in the Army.
