Services today for the infant son of Mrs. Marguerite Jones are set for 10 a.m. at East Maplewood Cemetery. Underwood Funeral Home will transport the remains to the cemetery.
Gen Lemuel C Shepherd retiring as Marine Corps commandant will be recalled to active duty to chair the Inter American Defense Board, replacing Vice Admiral Edmond T Woolridge who remains at the National War College. The board, formed in 1942, includes members from 20 Latin American countries and the United States. The Navy announced the move after a Pentagon ceremony where Shepherd received a third Distinguished Service Medal.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Randolph of 1407 Cedar Street will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Second Baptist Church New Albany with Rev. H A King officiating. Burial follows at East Maplewood Cemetery. The body rests at Leonard P Underwood Funeral Home where friends may call.
