Survey ranks California cities as unfriendly in nationwide poll
Irene Schneider, editor, says the five point survey rated cities as excellent or very good for friendliness. Ballots tallied in May 2012, before civil unrest after officer involved shootings. Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Oakland rank low, Newark, N.J. tops. City culture drives perceptions, not popularity. Mayor Tait promotes a Year of Kindness despite the findings.
