A public notice argues against adopting the Carter railroad amendment on June 11. It questions claimed railroad gains, warns of consolidation and loss of independent lines, and urges voters to examine impacts on taxes and state territory.
The Kindergarten by Mrs Dyche opened at 9 this morning in the primary room of the Neet school building. Parents and mothers accompanied the children and praised the care and training arrangements. Some children will start tomorrow due to opening time confusion. conveyance is available for nonwalking children.
Classified notice offers a gasoline stove and other household items for sale. Inquiries directed to the Democrat office and to T. L. Boles of the north part of the county who visited Anadarko on Wednesday.
Cape Jasmines O P Skaggs, a young grocer, ordered 500 cape maar mines from the gulf coast for today. The fragrant blossoms scent the big grocery emporium and visitors are delighted. Call the office or in the morning as they will not last long.

The ordinance against riding bicycles on sidewalks in Anadarko will be strictly enforced hereafter. Mise Sweet, chief of police of Spragee Millinery Store, returned today to her Ponca City home for summer vacation. She made many friends during her Anadarko stay who hope she will return soon.
The Grandfather Clause amendment petition, filed with the Secretary of State by Hon. P. Branson, chairman of the State Democratic Executive Committee, drew over 42 000 signatures, far surpassing the 24 000 required. Signatures poured in from April 25 to May 28, with Democratic organizations statewide circulat ing and county visits by Branson contributing to the effort.
Walcott Coombs, son of A M Coombs, returns home for summer from the state school for the deaf at Saiphor. Deaf and blind, he is a youthful prodigy who types on a No 10 Remington without sight or bell. He impressed passersby in Oklahoma City with rapid, accurate typing and vivid letters describing his trip.
Mies Alice Hastings will teach a June summer school in the West school building beginning June 6, 1910 at o'clock. Tuition ranges from 1.60 to 2.00 dollars.
The Industrial Company proposes buying 1 960 acres near Oklahoma City at 800 per acre to create 16 680 25 foot building plots selling at 300 each yielding 4 704 000. After expenses and commissions net gains top 3 533 600, enough to fund a state capitol with no burden on buyers.
John M. Penny of Hydro Township announces his bid for the Democratic nomination for Caddo County treasurer. A farmer south of town for seven years, Penny has served Hydro Township as trustee and is backed by warm local supporters. The Hydro Review endorses Penny and notes it would take a strong Republican to defeat him if renominated.

Mrs Dora Streight Popejoy presents her Sixth Annual Recital at Deitrich Opera House on Thursday evening June 2, starting at 8 80. The Steinway Grand and Voco Upright will be used for the program. Two pupils Misnes Lalu Mae Gasper and Weltha Mundell graduate in piano and harmony. A full program appears in tomorrow’s issue. Mrs Popejoys School of Music is a noted Anadarko institution with progressing pupils.
Harry Miller of Gracemont and Mies Ethel McVay of Texas were married yesterday at the Worthey Hotel. Ceremony was conducted by Mev Miller and Ed Miller, with Mrs Harve Miller present. The event marks one of Anadarko’s most remarkable weddings, matching records set by the Smiths. Frank Madison, a Cement business man, was in Anadarko Wednesday.

Family and relatives gathered for the funeral of Mrs Jacob Piatt. Attendees included Mrs Verna Grimes of Newton Kas and James Shafer of Caney Kas with William Piatt of Sparks Okia and Robi Piatt present as brothers. All children were present except Mrs Eva Kerr of Quay Co New Mexico.
