A confession letter naming Minnie Mitchell was in his pocket, and identification relies on dental and personal details. Police in Riceville will exhume the body for confirmation as officers and the murdered girl's brother arrived at the scene.

State Auditor J H Calderhead treasurer for the committee is one of the assessed, with a personal levy of 9.59. Also named are Attorney General James Donovan Jack Carr Cascada county auditor and Peter Breen Silver Bow prosecuting attorney. Cascade county populist chairman S M Moore calls a county convention for September two at the courthouse. Primaries are set for September 1 in city wards and Boston Heights and Little Chicago, with other precincts to be announced.
