A German foreign ministry announcement says a great revolt began in Moscow with the Kremlin allegedly invaded. In Trieste, nationalist protesters mainly youths and students caused disturbances with five wounded, one fatally, during the events tied to labor strike protests.
In Marion Indiana Franklin D Roosevelt assailed a letter by 31 prominent Americans pledging to vote for Harding over Cox. He branded the statement false and misleading noting it misrepresents the league of nations issue and asserts the choice is the present league or none. Union Pacific chief C R Gray said railroads have staged a comeback during a 10 000 mile inspection tour with 14 officials aboard a seven car special train. He noted improved maintenance and beds in good condition though freight cars remain scarce. New York, Oct. 15. First arrests tied to the alleged curb liquor market came today as two men were taken into custody on a ferry boat to New Jersey. A hearse carried six wooden crates, each with a five gallon jug of grain alcohol, and records showed the hearse had long been used to transport liquor.
Four convicts escaped by sawing into a sewer at the Missouri penitentiary. Two men fled and were being sought tonight while the other two returned to the prison due to water and gases in the underground passage.

Detroit Oct 15 Governor Cox, Democratic presidential hopeful, pledged to run on the League of Nations issue as Harding framed it in Des Moines. He argued 31 Republican signers cannot back Harding consistently and warned the campaign is swinging between covenant support and opposition. He closed by saying conditions over the past 10 days suggest a wobble.
Salt Lake City Oct 15 The United States woolgrowers plan to push for a law to embargo foreign wool in the upcoming December short session. F R Marshall secretary of the national woolgrowers association announced the move today in Salt Lake City.
New York reports the disbursement of over 150 million dollars to holders of the Anglo French 500 million 5 per cent five year loan by J P Morgan & Co as syndicate managers. About 200 million more may remain due at maturity while demand loans fell to 6 or 7 percent. Major holders include the British government.
