Washington reports that bank deposits in the United States increased by 4.045 billion dollars during the year ending June 30. Loans and discounts grew by 5.806 billion. Total resources of all reporting banks stood at 53.079 billion, excluding federal reserve banks, with capital, surplus and profits totaling 5.954 billion, up 618.303 million since June 30, 1919.

Mammoth triplanes to carry passengers from Butte to parks

Butte hosts Rotarians hear plans for forty passenger airplanes from Curtiss to shuttle tourists to Yellowstone and Glacier parks next summer. Flights would depart Butte at 8 am reaching Yellowstone at 9 39 am then return by 6 pm. Glacier park trips follow the next day with similar timings.

Large Lot of Dynamite Discovered on Buckwheat Island

Ten cases containing about 560 sticks of dynamite were found in a wooden shanty on Buckwheat Island off Staten Island. Two cases had been opened and part of the contents removed. Police hope the find will aid their investigation into the Wall Street explosion.

Rescue atop 150-foot mast saves worker in peril

In Toronto on October 14 Joseph Moulday a construction foreman climbed a 150-foot derrick mast to rescue Frank Carvell who was unconscious hanging from a glove wedged between a cable and pulley wheel. The act occurred before hundreds and Moulday will be recommended for the Humane Society’s saving medal.

Senator Myers States Position in Montana Campaign

United States Senator Henry J. Myers outlined his view on the Montana race in Helena tonight. He arrives in Harlowton tomorrow for a campaign that spans 15 cities in 16 days, arguing that the non-partisan-labor league ticket lacks Democratic eligibility and is not a Democratic ticket. At 2:30 pm an officer and two soldiers in an armored car visited Phibsborough bank to draw pay when four young men opened fire. One soldier was wounded and a civilian assailant was shot in the head and died later.
