Miners to Decide on 10 Percent Wage Offer at Convention
President Mitchell plans a miners convention to vote on accepting the operators 10 percent wage increase. Parade of Strikers in Shenandoah Heads to Union Debate
More than 5000 striking mine workers marched through Shenandoah and to Soldiers’ Monument park Locust mountain where National President John Mitchell of the United Mine Workers spoke. Mitchell announced a joint convention to decide on the 10 percent wage raise and warned the strike would continue if not approved. General Gobin watched from quarters, troops kept in camp until 8 pm.

An opinion per curiam denied striking out the transcript and dismissing the appeal of Taney versus Wallen Weider from Deer Lodge county. The Baker versus Butte City Water Co. motion to strike out the transcript and dismiss the appeal was denied. The Sisters of Charity of Providence against Alfred Cave was granted to dismiss the appeal since the transcript was not filed in time.
