Crow horse plan eyed by Roosevelt officials and Crow tribe
Washington May 1 plans approved by President Roosevelt and others seek to breed an army horse type in Montana Crow country. A 40 000 acre reserve would host 4 000 brood mares and 15 stallions with Crow stock to be issued as tribal shares and common stock to individual Crow Indians under Interior Department supervision. The project aims to create a self supporting stock operation and supply the army with superior remounts.
