Rich Lands Opened for Crow Settlement in Montana
A Dixon backed bill would open 3 000 000 acres of Crow reservation land in Montana to settlement within years. The act funds irrigation, horse breeding, and allotment, with proceeds to aid Indians in farming, stockraising, and education while allowing sale of inherited lands to speed transition to citizenship. Chief Plenty Coos led a Crow delegation to Washingtoneye, praising Reynolds for guiding reservation progress and fair treatment.
