Who Is Who on the Hill in Walkerville Mayoral Rumble
Walkerville faces a mayoral contest as two conventions, both with strong candidates, delay declarations. Mayor Murray, elected on the democratic populist ticket, may not run again or could back a strong rival if the Citizens party fields a good man. The Citizens party backs Louis Gainor and previously favored Jacob Briney, while Murray waives opposition for a capable successor, keeping voters unsure. The split risks a partial slate, with municipal posts up for grabs and possible Republican realignment.
