Butte Shoemaker Daniel Fraser Dies After Liquor Indulgence
A coroner's inquest in Butte found no foul play in the death of Daniel Fraser a well known shoemaker at the Free Coinage lodging house on West Galena Street. Witnesses testified he appeared ill drank and died after a day of seeking medical aid with signs of delirium and dysentery. The jury ruled death due to unnatural causes tied to overindulgence in liquor, while noting the specific cause was not determined. Fraser's body remained at the undertaker's and funeral plans awaited word from his brother A M Fraser of Pugwash Nova Scotia.
