Anaconda residents see Silver Lake, 18 miles west, becoming a major summer resort. Land at the lake’s northern end, once the Roach property, has changed hands with expected next season plans for a large summer hotel. Boating and fishing attract visitors to the scenic grounds surrounding the lake.
A Congregational minister's wife shares her family’s shift from coffee to Postum Food Coffee. She notes her husband’s headaches and nervousness improved after discontinuing coffee and tea. Their baby thrived on Postum with Grape-Nuts, gaining weight steadily while other milks failed. She plans to keep using Postum for the child and family health.
The article envisions turning the Silver Lake district into a model summer resort with golf and tennis grounds water features and hunting and fishing nearby. It notes the lake is three hours from Anaconda offering scenic mountain air and easy city access, and suggests plans could be completed before season’s end despite it being late in the year.
Delegations from G. A. R. Spanish American War Veterans Elks and A. O. U. W. gather to arrange a military funeral for Maj. John Hallahan. Remains arrive tomorrow evening and lie in state at Anaconda city hall before a 1 PM Monday service at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Interment follows at Hill Cemetery with a full military escort and multiple pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Mrs Mariam W Stuckey died at 7 pm after a long battle with dropsy. Born September 3 1839 in Manchester New Hampshire she moved to Deer Lodge valley with her husband in 1869 and lived on a ranch near Anaconda. One daughter Mrs John Watts survives. Funeral services at the Christian church Sunday at 2 pm.
Special correspondence reports Moncreiff and Shaffer advancing the Kobra Memorial drary project with a new foundation laid and occupancy targeted for fall. The Cham'nande mus icale was postponed due to illness and will join a Deer Lodge orchestra concert. Northern Pacific extended the depot platform by about 100 feet, abandoning a new depot this year. Deer Lodge Tennis Club thrives with near 50 members as students return home. The Fourth of July celebration shifts to Helena with an evening dance at the city pavilion for locals.

The man pled guilty. the woman bound over to district court for assault in the second degree, with a possible suppression of charges by the county attorney.
