A Chicago court ruled that more than 1,000,000 in experts' fees improperly funneled into the Thompson campaign coffers during 1920 and 1921 must be returned. Judge Hugo Friend directed Mayor William Hale Thompson and six associates to restitution totaling 1,732,279 dollars, with two defendants receiving reductions.

Nearly two score distinguished veterans will attend the Butte encampment starting Monday. The convention runs July 25 to 27 with about 4000 veterans and auxiliaries expected. In final government estimates the United States produced gold totaling 2,197,125 ounces valued at 45,418,600 and silver totaling 60,434,441 ounces valued at 34,266,328. The Montana Supreme Court ruled that June 6 is the last filing day for state office candidates and barred names filed after that date from the July 17 primary. The decision clarifies the 40 day period before the election and prevents certification of late filings.
Canadian flyer Charles A. Duke Schiller escaped injury after an amphibian plane stalled shortly after takeoff at St. Hubert's Flying Field. The tail skid was smashed and the flight was postponed.
