First woman to cross Atlantic lands in Wales after 20 hour flight
Miss Amelia Earhart of Boston with Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon completed the 20 hour 49 minute crossing from Trepassey Bay to Barry Port estuary in the airplane Friendship. They planned to fly to Southampton next, but overshot by about 130 miles. Crowds cheered as they landed and rested before the next leg.

Windstorm Causes Severe Damage Across Ohio Coast to Buckeye Lake

Two Couples Die in Pewaukee Train Collision
Four people including two young men and two young women were killed when the fishermen's special of the Milwaukee Road collided with their car at a crossing in Pewaukee Wisconsin. The auto stalled behind a passing freight train and was struck after the freight cleared. Police could not locate the license plate to identify the victims.

Patrick Carney Dead Pioneer Leader of Montana Pioneers
Patrick Carney president of the Montana Pioneers died Friday at 2 pm at his ranch home near Waterloo after a period of ill health following a Christmas fall. He was in his 78th year, born March 11, 1851 in Ireland, came to America as a youth, and settled in Waterloo where he served the pioneer community. He is survived by three sons John Tom and Charles and four daughters Pauline Patti Ruth and Mrs Guy Dodds. He will be buried in Fish Creek cemetery beside his three wives.

A man identified as F. W. Jones but believed to be Albert H. Smith of New York hanged himself from the bars in his cell at about 6 pm in Butte City Jail.
