New York June 12 Counsel for Mrs Ida E Woods of Mineola announced the out of court settlement of a suit to recover 195000 lost in the investment in the failed Staten Chip building company. Herbert L Satterlee secured a dismissal of the suit as to him while Mrs Woods stated her complaint against him was groundless.
Tokyo reports a Japanese cavalry detachment has driven back Russian units near Hiayngtzu, six miles south of Liao Yangwopeng, and another force defeated Russians near Liaochengt quan and Kaochiawopeng.
