Not Guilty in Butte Criminal Assault Trial
Thomas Wiley was found not guilty after a trial in Judge McClernan’s court. The case hinged on weak corroboration of Annie Killenne’s testimony and strong defense by J. Bruce Kremer and George H. Bush. Several witnesses, including Fulford and Mrs. Broderick, conflicted on credibility, and the jury deliberated about six hours before delivering the verdict.
