Survivors of the American freighter Pinar del Rio report a German submarine sank their ship 110 miles northeast of Cape Henry after a chase. Falls, June 10. The Anaconda Copper Mining mill at the Boston and Montana plant produced twenty tons of copper rods in its first day of commercial operation. By week’s end it is expected to reach 100 tons per eight hours with drawing wire starting next week. The rods will supply trolley wire for the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul electrification, needing 3,500 tons, and the first wire was made for Montana Power on a test line here.
