Murder in Their Hearts Halted by Foreman's Revolver
Foreman Mike Regan thwarted a deadly attack at Warm Springs when two Japanese section hands, Morrio and Nagatto, attacked him with a shovel and a lining bar. Regan drew his revolver and fired a warning shot to stop the mob, saving his life and that of John Huff. A partial hearing before Justice Frank Kennedy was held, with an interpreter to be arranged, and the two suspects remain jailed.

County Board Sits as Equalization Board Hearings
For two days the board of county commissioners acted as a board of equalization hearing complaints that property assessments are too high. Few objections were raised to George Miller’s valuations, with most owners accepting the figures as fair. The main action was canceling mortgages paid but not released with the county clerk. The board will reconvene next Monday and Tuesday and continue into the following week. Dr Sanford’s Liver Invigorator advertised.
