Unusually Quiet on Change in London Stock Market
London week passed with little movement on stocks aside from renewed American securities activity. The Salisbury resignation did not stabilize markets as sentiment remained weak, with South African shares notably soft. Analysts note London trails New York on railroad shares while praising the American crop outlook. The money market stayed easy due to government disbursements and expected harvest needs.
