England's new government takes shape as Sir Michael Hicks-Beach resigns from his post as Chancellor of the Exchequer, ending his tenure under the Marquis of Salisbury and signaling a reorganization of the administration.

Ocean Steamship is currently controlled by John D Spreckels and partners with $2.5 million capital stock and similar bonded amount.
Sidney H. Dent sent his resignation as referee in bankruptcy for the Denver district of the circuit court to Judge Moses Hallett. Judge Hallett accepted and appointed ex-District Judge E. Burns to the post. An disbarment action against Dent is pending in the supreme court for alleged wrongful actions toward clients.
