Dr. F. E. Savage of Butte Lodge No. 240 is elected state president to establish a shore home on Flathead Lake. State convention votes to begin work immediately on a project containing twenty three acres of lake land.
The Japanese ambassador states that the treaty with England is not intended as an affront to the United States and dismisses any hostile interpretation. He emphasizes diplomatic intent and seeks to reassure Washington of peaceful aims amid prevailing tensions.
Japanese ambassador Hidehara challenges claims that the Anglo Japanese alliance is hostile or expansionary toward the United States. He outlines the long standing goal of preserving Far East peace, noting renewals in 1905 and 1911 with Article IV limiting war obligations after third power arbitration.
The eighteenth annual B P O E state convention in Kalispell elected Dr F E Savage of Butte state president and re elected Tom Mc Tague of Deer Lodge as first vice president. Joseph Brooks of Livingston and Howard Beckett of Virginia City won other top posts while J M Minor of Anaconda was re elected secretary for the sixteenth time. Delegates from most lodges attended as Great Falls and Livingston sent representatives and the meeting closed after a three hour session.
An auto driven by W F Callahan of Wallace Idaho plunged over an eight foot bankment on Apple Way near Spokane. Ruth McDonald 24 and Bertha Wilson of Spokane were killed instantly. Hazel McDonald sister of the bride-to-be was injured and Callahan was slightly injured.
A July tornado in Frederick SD killed Arne Anderson and caused about 35000 to 350 0 in losses across the region. Buildings were demolished, nine injured, nine cars blown from tracks, and railroad traffic delayed. A minstrel show train derailed near Tacoma Park while en route to Portland.

Neillsville Wisconsin July 3 Floyd Hanson a local barber must shave and trim Arthur Haugen until July 2 1926 and give him a 50 mile automobile ride each Sunday for three months after betting on Georges Carpentier to beat Jack Dempsey. Haugen a post office employee backed a two acre string bean crop on the champion.

Proprietor of the Butte City Market suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle overturned at Three Mile. He was taken to a local hospital where he died. The accident also left him with serious injuries.
Joseph Eder owner of City Market at 124 West Park street was killed when his automobile overturned at the Three Mile house on Harrison avenue. Witness Dr. Shanley described loss of steering control and brake failure. Eder died at St. James hospital within half an hour. Mrs Eder and William Oehmke and wife were injured. Eder, about 40, was a well known city resident and Hutte lodge member. body taken to Walsh undertaking rooms.
