West Opposes Polic and Forest Range Debate
A West regional gathering featured Dr. T. M. Wilson of Douglas urging unity among westerners about land and grazing policies. He warned against federal overreach on forest reserves and range management, praising western loyalty to the Union while criticizing eastern control and urging expansion of local regulation instead. T. J. Walsh joined with a strong attack on proposed bills to hand control of ranges to national authorities, arguing federal oversight would harm sheep and cattle industries and threaten settler rights.
