A Grand Forks dispatch says the town of Columbia BC was practically destroyed by a blaze that began at the Kecalet hotel and spread to the Presbyterian church, a business block, livery stable and homes. With no water supply and strong winds, dynamite failed to halt the flames and Grand Forks aid arrived too late. Estimated loss exceeds several hundred thousand dollars.
