Missing six year old feared drowned in creek near Kila lake
Special Dispatch reports Malispell Aug 9 a six year old boy son of Mrs Mary Whitley of Kila has been missing since Sunday morning while fishing. His boat was found partly filled with water in a stream flowing into Kila lake, fishing pole nearby. A search party and coroner searched the scene without result. A dynamite effort to dislodge the body was planned. The water is shallow and the stream resembles quicksand. Efforts and reports from Bozeman note the West Gallatin road to Yellowstone Park is closed to traffic, diverting tourists via the Madison valley to Gardiner entrance.
