Georgetown August 4 The cross examination of Adjutant General Collier and Reuben Miller chief clerk of the defendant while secretary of state highlighted today's Powere conspiracy trial. Miller testified he did not come from Indiana with the defense and offered that the fatal shot was fired outside the executive building. He located Goebel’s fall about fifteen feet from the spot the prosecution claimed and said the initial did not appear for 30 minutes. Miller also said Powers was not in his office on January 25 when conspirators reportedly gathered. Ben Rowe corroborated Miller on movements within the secretary of state’s office during the shooting.

The seven companies allegedly operated at a loss of 6514 dollars from March 1 to April 1 18914, before a consolidation with the Union Transportation company. The charges claim the false finances gave fictitious value to Consolidated stock, with Sutro Bros as large holders of the stock.

A special train from Chicago will be met in Lafayette by a sub committee and Bryan will be escorted to the Grand hotel then Military Park for an all day and night program including speeches by Bryan Stevenson and Governor Thomas with James D Richardson likely to speak nearly an hour. Bryan's address expected near 10 000 words.
