At the first annual convention of the American Association for the Recognition of the Irish Republic in Chicago 4,100 delegates from 500,000 members urged immediate U S recognition of Ireland as a free sovereign state. They pledged aid to Indian independence led by Gandhi and urged buying American goods to counter British imperialism while plans were made to send a message to Eamon de Valera and a new president Edward L. Doheny of Los Angeles.
In Mexico near Vega de Los Landrones in Coahuila state, about ten miles from the U S border, a body found is believed to be an American aviator reported missing. Local authorities identified the site and await confirmation on identity and cause of death.
Helena April 19 The thirty sixth annual convention of the Montana Stock Growers association opened with good attendance. President Wallis Huidekoper of Wallis delivered the address. Gov J M Dixon the principal speaker predicted the current low mood would pass. Five holdup men raided the rostrum during the morning and demanded the 1922 convention for Miles City. Senator T C Power elected honorary life member.
Butte school children will again receive free pencils pens and tablets after the new school board approved a purchase plan not to exceed 250 dollars. Clerk O G Wood estimated annual costs at 3500 to 4000 dollars. Committees were named including Educational Building and Purchasing Finance and Auditing Laws Rules and Regulations. Wellington D Smith urged a high school plunge purification system saving hundreds yearly by reduced draining.
After an eight day canoe trip of 400 miles down the Beaverhead Jefferson and Missouri rivers from Dillon Rev George MacDougall Baptist pastor and Dr R R Rathbone of Dillon arrived in Great Falls this morning.

The injunction had been filed by O P H Shelley the current committeeman who argued the Kirton act under which the commission would oust him is unconstitutional The committee chose State Senator O P Junod of Madison county as committeeman Shelley plans petitions to delay the law until 1922 and will appeal Horsky’s ruling to the state supreme court
