Joyce sues for annulment of mortgage in fraud suit
Chicago lumber magnate James Stanley Joyce filed a superior court suit to annul his mortgage to actress Peggy Hopkins alleging she was already married at their ceremony in Miami on January 23 1920 and that the wedding was part of a conspiracy to defraud him of 500000 to 1000000. He names co respondents including Evan Spauling Maurice Henri Letallier and Barton French and cites alleged cruelty and forged divorce motives.

Physician Loses Right To Prescribe Whiskey
New York April 11. Dr Donald McCaskey had his right to prescribe liquor to patients revoked by Judge Everett B Holmes of the federal prohibition commission. The decision, endorsed by Dr Charles L O Connor, holds the case as a test of a federal officer's authority to revoke a physician's authority. He reportedly wrote 45 liquor prescriptions in one day before Christmas, 32 to hotel employees, with some alleged as tips or gifts.

Farm laborer badly injured by saw in Winona area
Alfred Beck, 62, of Cream Wisconsin near Winona, was seriously injured late today when he fell against a revolving circular saw. His left leg was nearly severed and the lower part of his right arm was cut severely. He was taken to a local hospital.

Doorn Holland April 11 Former Empress Augusta Victoria of Germany died at 6 o clock this morning. Her death came a year after a serious heart attack that struck her as she prepared to enter Doorn the former emperor’s home after leaving Amerongen. Her condition had waned since last autumn with repeated attacks and dwindling strength. Her son Prince Joachim’s suicide last July had been kept from her until after his death. Continuous rallies failed to restore her health and she had been summoned to Doorn several times this year before the end.
