An Ottumwa speciAL from Centerville reports J E Stout ex sheriff of Polk county wagered 300 with R N Hardy of St Paul that Kansas Nebraska and Colorado will vote for McKinley. The stake is 100 for each state. Stout, a two term Polk County sheriff, bases his prediction on business men in Omaha Denver and other western cities noting a shift from Bryan to McKinley among workers.
