Prof. Bishop head of the Boy Scout movement in Town will address the Sunday School at the Methodist Church Sunday morning in the main auditorium. All interested in Boy Scout work are welcome to attend and hear him.
Mrs Lillian Barker Beede has accepted a position in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles College of Osteopathy where Gal A Shaw formerly of Des Moines serves as secretary and treasurer. Several faculty members are Des Moines men and the institution is largely equipped with Iowa people.
Ames officials sought President Taft to participate in laying the cornerstone of the new federal building at Ames with Mayor Sheldon joining a Des Moines conference to arrange the event at the month’s start.
Professor W. H. L. Stevenson of the science department at the college was appointed by Governor Carroll as a delegate to the National Conservation Congress to be held in Kansas City on September 2.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Giro Boonett on September 18. The infant joins the family with joy and is welcomed by relatives and friends.

Public notice given by Homer Loring and Parney Sheldon as receivers of the Fort Dodge Des Moines Southern Railroad and the Dodge Des Moines Southern Railroad in foreclosure proceedings. They seek authority to abandon the 27 mile line from Des Moines Junction through Cambridge Loring Farrar and Mingo to Goddard and to dismantle rails ties depots water tanks and improvements. A hearing is set in Des Moines for November 21 1911.
