Ames central meeting highlights 1910 teachers gathering
The Story County Teachers Association meeting in Ames October 7 and 8 1910 featured five high level addresses by educators from Drake Grinnell Coe Simpson and I S C with music by the Ames high school orchestra. Attendance was about 100 with a broad welcome from Mayor Sheldon and a strong reception for visiting teachers. The group approved consolidating to a single central annual meeting beginning 1911 and added a teachers round table to the program.

Interurban records 1910 deficit for Fort Dodge line
The Fort Dodge Des Moines and Southern Railway reports a deficit of 41512 dollars 35 cents for the year ending June 30 1910. Operating revenue reached 458021 32 while operating expenses were 366158 90 leaving 113648 95 gross income after expenses. Total deductions to be made from this for all purposes totaled 155161 80 resulting in the deficit.
