Ames New Steel Water Tank Nears Completion
Construction of Ames Iowa's thirty three thousand dollar water works system nears completion. The Des Moines Bridge and Iron Company installed a large steel water tower and extensive mains including 357 feet of 12 inch pipe and 15475 feet of 4 inch line. The 125 foot well is finished with pump in place and a fire pump tested. The project, a major municipal upgrade, totals about 32689.57 dollars and will open to the public once connections are made.

Pire Proof Parlor Car Shown By Southern Pacific
A westbound No 3 passenger train featured a steel clad parlor car last Saturday morning. The car, built entirely of steel with doors and sashes in steel, included cold storage electric lights and automatic air brakes and was claimed fireproof throughout. Owned by the Southern Pacific railway it was en route to Ogden Utah.

Excursion to Ames Aims to Showcase Iowa State College
Large crowds flocked to Ames for a two day excursion with trains from Council Bluffs and Milwaukee bringing about 8 000 Friday and about 12 000 Saturday. The event featured a stock parade, speeches by Hon Late Young and Dr Gunsaulus, and robust dining and concessions across campus. The 1906 trip set a record for attendance and organization with careful crowd management and no accidents.
