Decoration Day Program at Methodist Church
The complete program for Decoration Day services begins at 2 PM Tuesday at the Methodist church. It includes prelude, patriotic airs, invocations, readings from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, addresses by G A R posts and dignitaries, solos, quartets, processional routes, and a parade order featuring band, guards, cadets, flower bearers, Ladies of the G A R, and marching contingents led by Gen. James Rush Lincoln and Maj. Herman Knapp.

Iowa Official Flag Hoisted At the College
The Iowa state flag designed by General J. R. Lincoln made its first Ames appearance yesterday morning. It measures 10 by 15 feet, yellow with a blue center star in a four foot diameter circle, and a white Iowa inscription in a 16 inch circle at the star’s center. Lincoln designed and the committee adopted it last winter, first shown publicly at Governor Carroll’s inauguration.

Norwegian organist and composer Eyvind Alnaes gave a highly praised organ concert at the Methodist church Tuesday evening. He toured America and is guest of friends at Story City, with local choir backing. Accompanists N. Tjernagel and Ingeborg Svendsen Tune performed notable clarinet and vocal pieces, including works by Bach, Handel, Grieg, Guilmant, and original Alnaes songs. The audience filled the hall and responded warmly to a varied program.

No Definite Action On New School Buildings Yet
No definite conclusions have been reached on the new school buildings. Architects have worked with the board all week and Tuesday night’s session ran until midnight without a decision. Pending results are expected in the next few days as Supt Hicks and Prof A B Noble toured Michigan and Southeastern Iowa to inspect possible buildings including Escanaba Michigan. Des Moines board members also visited Des Moines area buildings in the interim.

Boone Hail Storm Causes Extensive Damage
A Friday afternoon hail storm hit Boone for about fifteen minutes with eggsized to baseballsized stones. Damages range 7000 to 10000 dollars as glass shops, roofs, street lights, and the fruit crop suffered. The storm moved northeast along Squaw creek. Ames escaped but nearby residents reported hail.
