Stranger Ordered to Hospital for Insane
Sverre S Ostby, the stranger picked up last week near Kelley and held at the county farm, was declared a fit subject for treatment at a state hospital for the insane by the insanity commissioners. He will be sent to the asylum as a state charge, with the case referred to the board of control. No home or relatives could be found. he remains nonresponsive.

Ames Boone Debate Tomorrow Night
Ames high and Boone residents prepare for a crucial debate Friday March 24 at 8 pm in the Baptist church. The Ames team Lewis Sherman Will Hauser and Dave Holden will argue for the affirmative on income tax questions and Boone will defend the negative with Clare Taylor Russell Engeberg and Allan Flint. Judges include Supt Henley Grinnell Supt Kelly Webster City and Supt Williams Perry. The Boone team arrives with Edith Jones Eugene Jones and Leslie Mackel plus Elmer Fehleisen as alternate. Rural Carriers to Receive Increase in Wages
After July first rural carriers will earn 1000 dollars annually or 83 33 dollars per month. Increased costs for living and horse feed prompted the recommendation to Congress. The department expects to add over 2000 routes, creating about 45 000 carriers daily for roughly 4 500 000 families or 22 500 000 people.
