Albert Judisch, a respected Muscatine resident, was seriously wounded near Keokuk lake when an axe slipped while he and companions camped. A deep foot cut led to a blood loss and a litter carried him home. Blood poisoning was feared. He is a brother of George Judisch and many here hope for a rapid recovery.
The United States Civil Service Commission announces April exams for various government posts. Assistant Postmaster Rich will supervise tests on April 10 for positions including engineer, carpenter, teamster, lithographer helper, electrotyper helper, floor hand, Hindoo interpreter, immigration service, junior clerk, and reclamation service.
